Community-engaged program evaluations and research initiatives across healthcare, education, and neuroscience.
Ongoing and completed work examining cognitive aging, neurodegeneration, and lifespan development in autistic and neurotypical adults — including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's biomarker studies, fMRI brain imaging analysis, telehealth-based cognitive assessments, and retrospective evaluation of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for patients with dementia.
Multi-year mixed-methods program evaluations assessing outcomes for school-based and community-based initiatives serving children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodiversities — spanning educational interventions, pediatric therapy and enrichment, independent living programs, and community integration.
Early and sustained research on human trafficking as a public health issue — spanning health education interventions, sleep health in adolescent survivors of sex trafficking, and healthcare workforce training. Work included data collection, qualitative analysis, bilingual translation support, and co-authored publications and presentations in nursing, pediatric health care, and health equity.
Research and evaluation focused on underserved communities — including maternal and infant health, palliative and hospice care, and community-based respite programs for families of children with complex medical and developmental needs.
Curriculum development, pilot evaluation, and applied research for interprofessional education models — including primary care workforce transformation, community-engaged experiential learning initiatives, and telehealth-based training programs for rural and underserved populations.
Design, development, and delivery of health sciences coursework and educational programming — including co-creating a three-course interprofessional education series at ASU, developing a human trafficking awareness curriculum in partnership with the McCain Institute and Dignity Health, building an interprofessional primary care module for the ASU-Dignity Health Workforce Initiative, and creating online learning modules, lesson plans, and workshop content for diverse learner populations.
Building and sustaining partnerships between academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and community members — through the SHOW (Student Health Outreach for Wellness) program and community relations work supporting capital infrastructure projects.
